A single Allegiant Air aircraft made four emergency landings within a little more than a month late last year, part of a series of maintenance problems the airline contended with in 2015. With a newly added flight to New Orleans, Allegiant now flies to 50 cities from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport and is considered a big player in surging local tourism.
