Ajilon Technology Aerospace is looking for a CDF System and Software Engineer E3 for an opportunity at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands General tasks to be performed Providing functional support to projects and programmes for system engineering tasks Proposing, defining and supporting industrial activities related to system and concurrent engineering Organising and participating in ESA concurrent engineering studies and activities in cooperation with technical specialists, project teams and industry Investigating and promoting the application of CE methodologies to the project lifecycle to achieve optimal design, schedule compression, cost reduction Contributing to the consolidation and industrialisation of the CDF core engineering and data models to ensure the functionality and performance of the CDF, and its distribution to ESA institutional partners Maintaining, developing and upgrading the CDF hardware and software infrastructure to enhance the CDF in line with the evolution of relevant architectures Promoting the use of the CDF to support ESA programmes, industry and external customers Participating in standardisation initiatives e.g. ECSS in the systems and concurrent engineering domain Specific tasks to be performed The post Is to provide support to the Galileo Space Segment System team reporting to the Galileo FOC Satellite System Manager. It covers support to Satellite Qualification and Acceptance, from contract kickoff to launch, working in close cooperation with subsystem experts, such as payload and platform, as well as AIV and PA. The post holder will contribute in particular to the following areas Technical coherency of the satellite system design, including system level budgets, system performance analysis. Satellite System tradeoffs in design phase based on subsystem inputs Satellites acceptance campaign and more specifically system tests. Satellite qualificationacceptance test matrix and test flow execution. Technical discussion raised through design and acceptance reviews such as PDR, CDR, QAR, AR. Timely implementation of fix from inorbit shortcoming. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Expert knowledge of SC system and mission design, incl. system design modelling tools and Concurrent Engineering applied to space mission assessment and design. Knowledge of System of Systems SoS architecting and related tools such as System Architect, Focal Point, etc. and frameworks e.g. MODAF, TOGAF. Knowledge and practice in the application of ESA SE Standards e.g. ECSSE10 series and SW engineering. The candidate shall have a good knowledge and proven experience in spacecraft systems in all project phases as well as in mission design and analysis. The candidate shall have demonstrated capabilities to work in space projects with complex technical and industrial interfaces. A minimum of 3 years experience in satellite activities and more specifically in satellite system activities. The position involves some travel, mainly within Europe. Applicants must be eligible to obtain security clearance by their national security administration. Being already in possession of security clearance will be considered an asset for the selection
