Columbus ACES GS Services MF Telespazio VEGA Deutschland has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT and CNES. This is an unlimited position fully on our ESA customer site in ESTECNoordwijk, the Netherlands. Starting date is May 2015 and submission deadline for applicants will be the 6th April 2015. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES In the context of the ISS Exploitation programme, a dedicated Ground Segment has been delivered to support the ACES PL ACES Atomics Clock in Space Ensemble. The Ground Segment is centred on CADMOS a CNES facility for PL support, but has many external interfaces and includes its own science data processing capability. The Ground Segment is also the converging element between 3 separate contracts. Under the supervision of the Head of the Columbus Ground Segment Maintenance and Operations Section, the successful candidate will be required to fulfil the following tasks Technical coordination between the 3 contracts to achieve integration, readiness of the GS for operations, External interfaces coordination the successful candidate will be expected to coordinate, in cooperation with CADMOS, the finalisation and updates of external ICDs and Service Level Agreements Supervision of AIV activities at CADMOS acting as ESA coordinator for all technical matters Sustainability of the GS definition and oversight of maintenance implementation for the ACES GS system, the network of MWL GTs, and external interfaces Change management several changes will be made to the system during 2015 and 2016 which shall be coordinated and supervised. In particular the successful candidate shall coordinate the acceptance of the science data processing capabilities and coordinate with the ESA ACES IWG for this purpose Security coordinate with the ESA Security Control Board SCB and CADMOS for matters of GS security implementation and processes The successful candidate will also attend the various boards or working groups in particular the ACES JWG as needed. The successful candidate will submit a monthly report on the ACES GS activities. Change management deliverables shall include proposals for ECRs or modifications of configurations and validation reports of the changed GS capabilities. In liaison with the ACES PIM and CADMOS, the successful candidate shall produce a detailed GS schedule on a monthly basis. With respect to AIV tasks, the successful candidate shall maintain the list of issues and open anomalies with their status on a monthly basis. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE University or similar degree in engineering discipline ESSENTIAL SKILLS Background in ground segment implementation and validation, with an emphasis on SW AIV Extensive experience in project management as well as formal interface management Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Ability to work in a multicultural team but also independently and in a proactive manner Ability to work with various international and industrial actors DESIRABLE SKILLS Seniority, project oriented attitude Familiarity with the ISS programmatic environment The ability to multitask efficiently BENEFITS Competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package including 30 days holiday and generous training possibilities.
