Legislation recently passed by the Connecticut legislature that covers the installation of aftermarket parts in vehicles has been sent to Gov. Dannel Malloy for his signature and enactment into law. Connecticut Senate Bill 99 mandates that new vehicle dealers must present customers, at the time of sale, with printed explanations of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which regulates warranties for the protection of consumers and provides that vehicle manufacturers may not deny warranty coverage based on the use of an aftermarket part alone.
