Des Moines Register: Des Moines Mayor Frank Cownie was one of more than two dozen officials appointed by the White House Friday to help the Obama administration respond to the impacts of climate change. The White House said the members of the Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience will be asked to provide input to the administration on their experience in climate preparedness.
