Featuring menu-driven UI with full color graphics LCD, model 1656 screens out defective insulators in lead acid batteries during manufacturing. High voltage AC pulse test stimulus signal and all-digital EMF feedback voltage measurement system are used to detect potential isolator problems between positive and negative plates in battery cell. Battery elements may be tested in formed or unformed conditions, and pulsed waveform eliminates risk of heating element under test.
