Originally built in 1624 as a hotel for passing travelers, over the years this restaurant in Kyoto, Japan, disfigured by numerous piecemeal renovations. The architects of GENETO responded to a recent request to resuscitate the place with a series of unique dining rooms: one features sculptural plywood arches , while another immerses guests in glowing dotted patterns via hole-punched metal screens.
