Fewer Breeding Pigs, More Finishers in England's Livestock Census

ENGLAND - The latest census of pig and cattle numbers in England in December 2013 reveals the breeding herd down by four per cent from 12 months previously and there are 13 per cent fewer gilts for future breeding, while the number of fattening pigs is up seven per cent, writes Jackie Linden.
