Fire lookout: CarMax considers request to burn old Kmart

Its owner is weighing the request. A spokeswoman for CarMax Inc., the Richmond, Va.-based car retailer that bought the 14-acre Kmart site in January, relayed an inquiry about burning the surplus building for practice to the company's real estate department.
