This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Flight Dynamic Operations AEOLUS Command Generation Service for Earth Observation Missions 1923719 Job Description We are looking for a Flight Dynamic Operations Engineer for our client, ESOC. You will join a team responsible for the Command Generation for Earth Observation Missions but the service provider may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional service, missions and activities within the scope of general Flight Dynamics operations engineering services. You will be primarily assigned to a particular service within the Earth Observation Missions but with the possibility of supporting other service andor missions. Services to be provided are primarily related to AEOLUS. Services may also be requested related to SWARM, CRYOSAT2, CLUSTERII. The general activities to be supported by the service are depending on the phase of the mission Command Generation Execution of and support to operational tasks Generation of task related command parameters Generation of task related reports Flight Dynamics Application Layer Maintenance of elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer Flight Dynamics System Development Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests Participation in tests Setup procedures Flight Dynamics SubSystem configuration Coordination of internal and external interfaces and actitivities across subsystems General Flight Dynamics operations engineering activities Mandatory Skills and Experience University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics Skills to apply knowledge to develop solutions to technical mathematical and dynamical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts Ability to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions using e.g. Unix andor Linux scripting languages, Fortran 77 andor 95, C Will to take operational responsibility in multidiscipline teams Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Ability to work independently On call periods are to be expected Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarityexperience with Flight Dynamics operations engineering tasks Experience dealing with external interfaces Experience with OracleSolaris andor Linux, network services and protocols, and system administration The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously.
