We have 2 exciting new opportunities available in Airbus Filton for a Fluid Mechanical Specialist Engineer. We are seeking a Fuel Systems Engineer to work within our highly skilled, crossfunctional team to gain and deploy expertise across a range of fluid mechanical tasks. Specifically, we are seeking a candidate with a high level of experience in systems design and verification. The ideal candidate thrives in an agile environment and has a passion for resolving diverse technical problems. They will be required to support the continuing development of inservice programmes and the certification of new modifications including new fuel types. Our Fuel and Inerting Systems interface with a huge number of other aircraft functions including Wing, Fuselage and Empennage Structures, Electrical Systems, Powerplant, Auxiliary power unit APU, Avionics, Flight Handling and we continuously find innovative ways of improving our systems and products to help our customers achieve future business needs. The role will also require significant collaboration with fuel system equipment and resource suppliers and Airbus teams from Customer Services, Chief Engineering, Programmes, Safety, Airworthiness, Test, RT and Procurement. The objectives for this role include o Acting as a focal point for a particular sub system within Airbus Fuel systems. o Plan and complete fluid system design tasks using a range of analysis tools and methods with good knowledge of fluid mechanic principles o Provide resource estimates and programme plans to support fluid mechanical tasks to completion o Support the development, qualification and maturity testing of new subsystems. To ensure strong customer focus additional responsibilities of the job are to o Report progress on a regular basis, in a comprehensive and timely manner o Attend and present design aspects at design reviews o Liaise with System Safety and Control Indication design teams to ensure completeness of designAs the successful candidate, you must be able to demonstrate the following Required Qualifications and Skills o Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or a demonstrable understanding of fluid handling systems and equipment and an HND in engineering or related discipline o Good understanding of Fluid mechanical principles o Familiarity with fluid system development, preferably within an aerospace context. o Ability to be flexible and agile within an innovative changing environment o Experience with managing a system development and suppliers o Ability to use judgement to make technical recommendations based on incomplete or conflicting design data o Experience of producing technical documentation of a high standard to accurately record design evolution o Experience of requirements V V processes o Ability to influence and coach stakeholders, and make informed decisions Additional Desirable Qualifications and Skills o Familiarity with systems engineering processes o System definition to safety, reliability, maintainability and particular risk requirements o Understanding of fuel characteristics o Airworthiness Regulations o Specific knowledge of aircraft fuel tank vent systems o Experience of use of computer based analysis tools with an understanding of their limitations Please ensure that a covering letter detailing motivations and suitability for this position is included in your application. We are looking for a Mechanisms Engineer E3 to join our Ajilon Technology Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Ajilon Technology Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Ajilon is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 115 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. General tasks to be performed Mechanisms support to all ESA project directorates with respect to the implementation of space mechanism technologies in current and future missions, including configuration assessments and mission performance evaluation Establishment of Statement of Work and Preliminary Requirement Specifications for Mechanism Systems, Individual Mechanisms or Mechanism components dedicated to Technology and Research Development. Perform and support in the role of Mechanism engineer, System Level Mission Definition studies and system conceptual design activities in support of the ESA long termfuture mission plans. Identification of enabling mechanism and tribological technologies for future ESA missions. Support investigations of mechanisms being out of performance, including malfunctions and contingency scenarios. Support and contribute to the establishment and maintenance of the Space Mechanisms ECSS Engineering Standards. Generation and setup of appropriate space mechanisms analysis and simulation models using analysis tools based on technical documentation of space mechanisms. Back up and archiving of analysis models for later retrieval. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required A Masters degree or equivalent in mechanical or aeronautical engineering. Relevant experience within the field of mechanism design, analysis, verification and testing. Excellent knowledge in space system engineering, specializing in mechanisms, knowledge of the Space Mechanism ECSS standard and its application to the design and verification of mechanisms, together with a good knowledge of space mechanism testing and verification methodologies and techniques and a good knowledge of related mechanisms numerical analysis tools such as Adams, VirtualLab Motion , SIMPACK, MatlabSimulink, Maxwell, Flux etc. Good knowledge specifically of ECSSEST3301CRev.1 Mechanisms. Good knowledge of ESA and its programmesprojects. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively, autonomously and cooperatively in a diverse and international team environment, defining and implementing solutions in line with team and individual objectives, as well as project deadlines. Summary An opportunity for an experienced System Engineer to work onsite at ESTEC for Telespazio VEGA UK. Objective To provide support in the DTEC Directorate in the System team of Small Satellite or CubeSat Project in the area of System Avionics, System Software and System Communication across all phases of the project. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to Support all activities related to System Avionics, System Software and System Communication, from the early definition phase through to implementation phase and launchoperations phase. Maintain interfaces with the relevant Prime contractors or subsystem responsibles industryresearch institute for the assigned projects. Support system and subsystem reviews of the assigned projects and ad hoc support. Follow up on technical issues arising on the assigned projects and participate in risk reduction activities. Help defining operations and support the inorbit commissioning phase of the projects. Qualifications Experience Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent. The candidate should have expert knowledge of System Engineering and more specifically to avionics, software and communication subsystems through the complete lifecycle including mission designoperations, systems design AIV, subsystem technologiesproducts. Knowledge of experience in the practical application of tailored engineeringquality standards to Small Satellite, IOD missions and CubeSat projects would be an asset. Experience of system and mission design, including system design modelling tools and Concurrent Engineering applied to space mission assessment and design would be beneficial. Knowledge of System of Systems SoS architecting and related tools such as System Architect, Focal Point, etc. and frameworks e.g. MODAF, TOGAF would be an asset. Knowledge and practice in the application of ESA SE Standards e.g. ECSSE10 series and SW engineering would an asset. Essential Skills Good English language skills Excellent interpersonal skills. Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a diverse team environment.
