GAWDA is recognizing Hypertherm founder and CEO Dick Couch with its Presidential Award of Excellence, which recognizes outstanding contributions to industry. While bestowing this award, GAWDA president Craig Wood cited Couch's passion and dedication to improving gas and welding industry. Wood also mentioned Hypertherm's 111 patents related to metal cutting technology and noted that Couch is named-inventor or co-inventor on 42 of them. Couch founded Hypertherm in 1968.
