Google AI research centre in Africa to open in Ghana

(Telecompaper) Google has announced that its Google AI research centre in Africa will open later this year in Accra, Ghana, and will bring together top machine learning researchers and engineers. Jeff Dean, Senior Fellow, Google AI, and Moustapha Cisse, Staff Research Scientist and lead of Google AI Center Accra, said in a joint post that AI has great potential to positively impact the world, and more so if the world is well represented in the development of new AI technologies.
