HBO Now streaming service launches on Apple, Cablevision

(Telecompaper) The HBO Now streaming service is now available in the US. Customers can subscribe through Apple and cable operator Cablevision's Optimum Online service for a monthly subscription of USD 14.99, after a free, 30-day trial period. The service offers HBO series, documentaries and films as well as Hollywood hit moves, sports, music and comedy. Similar to the HBO Go on-demand service provided to subscribers of the cable TV channel, HBO Now offers more than 2,000 titles online, but without the need to subscribe to the HBO channel. HBO said it's in talks with other potential distributors for the service. The launch comes ahead of the 12 April debut of its hit series 'Game of Thrones'.
