With Halguard® E 59000 Thermoplastic Elastomers, manufacturers of flexible cords can produce non-PVC insulation and jacketing that do not contain halogenated flame retardants or phthalate plasticizers, while avoiding processing limitations of highly filled halogen-free flame retardant polyolefin compounds. Inherently elastic, low-smoke compounds incorporate intumescent flame retardant formulations rather than metal hydrate fillers used to render polyolefin products flame retardant.
