Job description For our customer, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking an experienced IT User and Technical Support Engineer to provide support within the Information Communication Technology ICT unit of the Technical and Scientific Support Department of EUMETSAT. The EUMETSAT corporate ICT unit supports the Information and Communication Technology systems, services and infrastructure, which are used by EUMETSAT for support of its administrative activities. This is distinct from those used for the operation of satellites or distribution of data products. More detailed information about EUMETSAT can be found at httpwww.eumetsat.int. Responsibilities The ICT User Support Engineer will report to the Service Desk Manager and work according to the teams agreed service levels, defined working practices and procedures. You will have as a minimum the following responsibilities Installconfigureadministrate desktop and notebook systems hardware and operating system MS Windows Installconfigureadministrate standard corporate office applications Maintain, administer and support remote access devices e.g. iPhones, VPN tokens Administer user accounts, manage user permissions Provide first and second level user and technical support, particularly in the area of standard desktop applications Windows 7, MS Office , Visio, etc. Contribute to the preparation of IT Information on the Intranet and Training Material including presentations viewgraphs, demonstrations and online training as well as provide coaching and training to IT Users Act as an interface between 1st level support and the 2nd level engineers responsible for the backend systems Provide support to upgrade and enhancement Projects Plan and perform rollouts of new Software Provide support to VIP users Provide support for WebEx and Videoconferences This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in April 2016. You will be nominally based at EUMETSATs facilities in Darmstadt, Germany, but may require very limited travel within Europe or to Launch Sites for certain activities. Standbycallout arrangements as well as late night or weekend work might be required on certain occasions, which will be agreed at least one week ahead. Qualifications Competencies Essential skills Customer focus and service orientation as well as highly effective interpersonal skills in dealing with demanding customers under high workload Extensive knowledge of and experience in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of MS Windows 7, MS Office, Visio, MS Project and Internet Explorer Experience in the installation and maintenance of mobile computing solutions e.g. VPN access, Notebooks, Remote Access, iPhones, WebEx Extensive experience in end user support in general. Experience in performing user administration in MS Active Directory Knowledge of Outlook configuration and administration and troubleshooting in an MS exchange environment Fluency in English spoken and written is mandatory, as English is the working language In addition, the following knowledge shall be considered an advantage Experience in hardware installation, maintenance and troubleshooting desktop PC, notebooks, network printers, scanners Experience in a structured, ISO 9000 certified andor ITIL based information technology service environment Professional certification as MCP Windows 7 or any other professional certifications e.g. MCP MS Office, etc. Experience in using software distribution systems e.g. Novell ZENworks, MS SCCM Experience in providing support for Document Management Software Experience in providing 1st level support for SAP What can Terma offer At Terma, we consider skilled employees, enthusiasm and job satisfaction as the very foundation of our success and as a prerequisite for the development of the bestinclass solutions that Terma provides.
