Intel to sell Wind River unit to TPG

(Telecompaper) Intel-owned embedded software unit Wind River announced that global alternative asset firm TPG is acquiring the company for an undisclosed amount. Wind River president, Jim Douglas, and his existing executive management team will lead the newly independent Wind River after the transaction closes, said the company, which was acquired by Intel for USD 884 million back in 2009.
