Meat Market Update | Meat prices drastically drop of heels of falling rib & loin

The big news this week was that prices drastically dropped on the heels of the falling rib and loin prices, but volume picked up as retailers prepare for Father's Day. Father's Day, which is the next major grilling holiday, should promote more volume and better prices. Out-front sales don't get delivered for at least 22 days and this week's out-front sales are aimed at Fourth of July, but were lower in prices. Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News Reporter read more
