Do you have the engineering expertise to manage and maintain our mission control systems for our LEO satellites? We are developing the second generation of operational LowEarth Orbit LEO satellites and instruments for earth observations, which will constitute the new reference point for numerical weather prediction and climate monitoring for the next 2030 years. We are looking for an Engineer to manage our mission control systems for our fleet of LEO satellites and to support operations preparations for our new generation EPS Second Generation EPSSG systems including the launch and commissioning of its first satellites. The first satellite is due for launch in 2022 followed by five further launches, spaced over time to ensure continuity over the next 20 years. This is an opportunity to be part of one of the most important global space projects for weather and climate forecasting. Why EUMETSAT? It is an exciting time as we are prepare for the next generation of meteorological satellites, ensuring the 247 availability of our existing fleet. We continuously work to improve the quality of our data and how we share it with our users and partners. This information is used to forecast the weather, and to monitor sea surface temperatures and air quality. Our use of technology is vital to everyday life. Your role With significant experience in space, ideally in operations and or operations preparation of LEO satellite systems, you will bring your experience of developing, maintaining and operating mission control systems to this challenging and professionally rewarding role. You will plan and schedule operations, rectify anomalies and support the development, verification and validation of the next generation of satellites. Working with partners and suppliers, you will assess any issues that arise and use your expertise to contribute to the development of controls for future missions. Evaluation and trend analysis will also form part of your role. We are a fast paced, operational organisation, working closely with users and partners from industry and space agencies. You must be highly organised, with strong planning skills and the capability to analyse and respond to complex situations.
