Motorola unveils low-cost Moto E smartphone in India

(Telecompaper) Motorola Mobility has unveiled its latest smartphone, the Moto E, at an event in India. The device is even cheaper than its previous mobile, retailing at INR 6,999 (USD 117) in India without a service contract. The Android 4.4 smartphone comes with a 4.3-inch 540x960 qHD display, 1 GB RAM, 4GB storage, Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 5 megapixel rear camera, FM radio and support for two Sims. Motorola highlighted the durability of the 3G device, with Corning Gorilla Glass and a water-resistant splash guard, as well as a long-lasting 1,980 mAh battery. The Moto E goes on sale 13 May in India first, on the site Flipkart. The company will launch the phone in other markets later, with a marketing campaign under the tagline 'Made to last.
