No truckers allowed on section of Highway 14 in Prattville starting Jan. 1

The truckers typically take Highway 14 and make a left onto McQueen-Smith Road, passing several neighborhoods while en route to International Paper. Prattville was able to make the change because the Alabama Department of Transportation has given the city Highway 14. Mayor Bill Gillespie says Highway 14 will soon become the extension of Fairview Avenue, meaning Fairview Avenue will now start from Interstate 65 to Highway 31 in Prattville.
