Nonprofit wants to revive grocery store on North Side

The Hennepin County Board on Tuesday pushed along a Minneapolis nonprofit's proposal to revamp a shuttered grocery store on the city's north side, a project that counts some of Minnesota's biggest corporate players among its supporters. General Mills, Cargill and UnitedHealth Group have all endorsed Pillsbury United Communities ' $5.5 million plan to refurbish a 15,000-square-foot former Kowalski's at 4414 Humboldt Ave. N. into a new grocery store and wellness center, the nonprofit said.
