Oman awards third mobile licence to local consortium, cancels tender

(Telecompaper) Oman has cancelled the tender for the country's third mobile licence after deciding to award a licence to a consortium of local investment funds and an international operator. The ministry of transport and communications said the decision is designed to enhance the role of the investment funds and enable them to contribute to the growth of the national economy.
