A vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanisms Designer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. The OneWeb project aims to provide permanent and affordable web connectivity throughout the world. Airbus Defence Space was selected by OneWeb as a partner for developing and producing a new generation of 900 satellites, leading to a revolutionary change in our Space industry and creating the first mass production of satellites in history. Within the French subsidiary of the Airbus OneWeb Satellites Joint Venture, your main tasks and responsibilities will include Being the Design engineer for spacecraft mechanisms hardware throughout the entire life cycle design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, integration, Designing mechanism components and performing inprocess hand calculationslight analysis as design verification, Creating CAD models and drawings of spacecraft mechanisms hardware, Developing mechanism test plans and procedures TVAC, random vibration, torqueforce testing, deployment, separation supporting mechanism testing operations and posttest data analysis, Working with mechanism hardware inhouse teams or vendors during analysis, procurement, manufacturing and testing activities, Creating and maintaining mechanism design documentation specifications, CAD models, analysis, drawings, parts lists, test plans, test reports. This role will involve some travel for business 20 of the time, worldwide and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to a degree level or equivalent, 5 years of experience in engineering activities related to electro mechanics, electro technics, robotics andor mechanisms, Ideally, experience in mechanism design, including actuators, motors, dampers, deployable systems, hinges, release devices, bearings, springs, geared systems, lubrication, etc., Knowledge of CAD modelling and drafting tools, including Solidworks, Catia, ProECreo, NX, or equivalent, Ideally Experience with spacecraft separation systems Experience with solar array release and deployment systems Experience with electromechanical devices including control electronics Proficiency with mechanisms analysis tools, including ADAMS or equivalent Handson experience developing satellite hardware or prototypes in multidisciplinary team environment Interpersonal skills to drive projects within an international environment, Excellent communication and coordination skills, Proactive and independent approach, ability to make decisions, Negotiation level of English French would be a plus.
