EUMETSAT is the European satellite agency for monitoring weather and climate. Bringing together the resources of 30 member states, we develop and operate a range of satellite systems surveying the atmosphere, land and ocean that deliver vital data 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our data contribute to weather forecasts that protect lives and property across Europe and to monitoring of our changing climate. From 2016 onwards, EUMETSAT will also operate the Copernicus Sentinel 3,4,5 and 6 missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data and services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users. Operations Preparation Manager REF. VN1529 In this challenging role, you will be responsible for managing the preparations for all Meteosat Third Generation operations and personally conducting the initial operational phase. Your remit will span the system, space and ground segment, as you define operation and maintenance concepts, put in place the teams, implement and validate all operational procedures and conduct testing simulation and training. Holding a University degree in a relevant discipline, you will be a highly experienced leader in operations preparation for a satellite mission andor routine operations. This experience should cover the coordination of activities, risk analysis and associated identification and implementation of mitigation actions as well as the management of the interface with a satellite manufacturer. Excellent interpersonal skills are also a prerequisite, backed by sound analytical and presentation skills and working level of English with knowledge of French.
