For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for an Optical Engineer. Tasks and Responsibilities As a successful candidate you will have the following tasks and responsibilities Performance analysis of optical payload straylight analysis of complex optical systems conceptual design of optical systems, as telescopes, spectrometers translation of optical payload requirements into optical specifications definition of optical performance validation and calibration plan analysis of test results Follow on of technology development high precision optical components. Requirements University degree or equivalent qualification in Optical Engineering or Physics or equivalent qualification by experience Minimum 4 years of project and or industrial experience in the design, engineering and testing of various types of optical instrumentation good technical judgment and solid communication skills verbal and in writing are necessary proactive attitude to solving problems and an interest for innovative technologies Several years experience in precision optical measurements at system, subassembly and component level Experience in space project work, and of operations in a cleanroom environment Fluency in the English language.
