For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for an Optical Engineer with a fixed term contract of two years. Tasks and Responsibilities As successful candidate your tasks and responsibilities will be Performance Analysis of Optical Payload Straylight Analysis of Complex Optical Systems Conceptual design of optical systems, as telescopes, spectrometers Translation of optical payload requirements into optical specifications Definition of optical performance validation and calibration plan Analysis of test results Followon of technology development high precision optical components. Requirements As Key Person you should bring a Master Degree in Optical Engineering or Physics or equivalent qualification by experience and the following Minimum 6 years of project andor industrial experience in the analysis of various types of optical instrumentation Very Good analytical skills are mandatory Proactive attitude to solving problems Several years experience in precision optical measurements at system, subassembly and component level Good technical judgement and excellent verbal and written communication skills, in the English language Experience in space project work, and of operations in a cleanroom environment.
