Altran Italia is looking for an Optical Engineer to be involved in ASD Division in The Netherlands. The candidate we are looking for will operate in the Engineering Support to the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality of ESA. Main duties will include Translation of optical payload performance requirements into optical systems specifications. Conceptual design of optical systems, as telescopes, spectrometers. Optical design analysis and verification including optical tolerances analyses. Assessment of optomechanical layouts. Definition of plans for experimental validation and calibration of optical systems. Evaluation and analysis of test results. Verification of high precision optical components technology developments including resolution of critical development problems. Your profile The ideal candidate has a Masters degree in Physics or Optics or Optical Engineering, has a good knowledge of the English language and gained from 2 to 5 years of proven experience in Project andor industrial experience in the design, engineering and testing and verification of various types of optical instrumentation. The candidate should have a good knowledge or experience in ZEMAX andor CODE V and preferably also ASAP. optical manufacturing techniques, alignment and tolerancing.
