SRONs mission is to bring about breakthroughs in international space research. The institute develops pioneering technology and advanced space instruments, and uses them to pursue fundamental astrophysical research, Earth science and exoplanetary research. The Astrophysics Group of SRON, Utrecht, has vacancy for a PhD student fm vacancy number 1176 SRON invites applications for this 4year PhD position funded by the NWOVidi fellowship titled Interstellar dust chemistry revealed through Xray highresolution spectroscopy. The PhD student will work in the group of Dr. Elisa Costantini. The goal of this project is to investigate the average chemical properties of the interstellar medium. The student will mainly deal with both astronomical data, observed in the Xray band, and laboratory data of interstellar dustanalogues. Employment conditions Employment of this fulltime position is by NWO The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research and will be for a period of up to 4 years. The salary will be in accordance with the salary scales of NWO 2.121, in the first year till 2.718, in the fourth year of employment.
