Telespazio VEGA Deutschland has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT and CNES. The role is related to the maintenance and operation of an operational computer infrastructure involving a network of 1,200 servers and clients mostly SLES and Solaris based with a small percentage of Windows based serversclients. Responsibilities Duties Be in charge of the Problem and Capacity Management Processes for the ESA Mission Operation IT Infrastructure. Liaise with Service Design team, the Infrastructure Engineering Team and the Maintenance and Operations Teams to ensure an EndtoEnd flow of information. Produce and maintain an overall Capacity Management Plan. Qualifications Experience A university degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent. At least 3 years experience as System andor Network Administrator. The successful candidate will have strong resultsoriented and planning capabilities, coupled with very good problemsolving skills and a pronounced customer focus. Applicants shall have excellent communication and negotiation skills, be able to work in a diverse team environment and accomplish goals in line with team objectives. ITIL qualifications at least at Foundation level. Essential Skills Great communication and problem solving skills. A sound understanding of IT infrastructure concepts and technology. An advancedlevel command of English and an ability to present output in a clear, concise and understandable way, both orally and in writing Proactive and confident personality. Desirable Skills Proficiency in German. Project Management qualifications Prince2, PMP.
