Proposed Utah settlement would cost oil recycler $73K

An oil recycler with two locations in Salt Lake County could pay more than $73,000 to settle a list of violations dating back to 2010. Under the settlement, which is awaiting approval from company leaders and the state Department of Environmental Quality , Emerald Services would pay a cash penalty of $26,782, make a $20,000 donation to the Utah Public Health Laboratory and invest $26,492 in a new remote tank-level monitoring system.
