SME and 3D Systems announced collaborative M.Lab21 initiative, which aims to enhance high school industrial arts and vocational education classes by offering starter kits intended to transform shop classes and incorporate additive manufacturing into curriculums. While 3DS will provide starter kits with 3D design and printing technology, SME will work with industry experts to identify knowledge and skills necessary for next generation workforce and develop curriculum based on those needs.
