SMUD opens fast-charge station in Citrus Heights

The Sacramento Municipal Utility District has recently opened an electric car fast-charge station in Citrus Heights that can supply an 80 percent charge in 30 minutes. The utility will dedicate the charging station June 3 at 7825 Lichen Drive, next to the Raley's store near Antelope Road and Interstate 80. It will help boost the infrastructure for electric car owners to get further from the downtown core with confidence, said Bill Boyce , supervisor of electric transportation research with the utility.
