For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for a Software Developer Librarian. Tasks and Responsibilities As successful candidate you will provide support to the development and maintenance of all current and future COPERNICUS related operational ground segments. In particular your tasks will include Maintenance and development of the asbuilt software build environments Building, packaging and distribution of software and data releases and patches Support to developers with respect to build and versioning strategies Support the delivery of software externally developed its installation, configuration and testing Investigation into anomalies, their documentation and classification follow up of the delivery of SW corrections Participation in technical meetings and formal reviews Analysis of the maintenance requirements and identification, procurement or implementation of the tools to fulfil them writing of maintenance procedures Technical interfacing with external contractors who are providing maintenance services for ground segment facilities. Requirements Essentials In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, you should bring the following Essential knowledge and experience in using UnixLinux command line tools Software build environments and tools like autoconfautomake, make, ANT, Maven Version control systems like CVS, Subversion, ClearCase, git Experience with various software packaging formats like RPM, PKG, LPP, tgz Scripting languages e.g. Shell, Perl, TclTk, Python networking, distributed applications, and TCPIP services Basic UNIX System Administration CC programming languages Java programming language Change Management. The following interpersonal skills are also required Very good communication, presentation, and team working skills combined with the ability to perform under very high workloads The ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and obtain a system overview A high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore you must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. Desirables Practical knowledge in the following areas, as much as possible, will be an advantage Experience in unattended, centralized software installation mechanisms PXETFTP, NIM, AutoYast, kickstart, Jumpstart Basic Windows System Administration MySQL, Oracle ECLIPSE or a similar IDE Formalised Software Testing MSAccess, Visual Basic programming FORTRAN programming Serena Dimensions CM.
