Spacecraft Operations Engineer 1923062 Job Description We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to join the team supporting the Solar System and Exploration Missions family. You will initially support the Solar Orbiter mission within the Solar System and Exploration Missions family with the possibility of supporting other missions within this family in the future. The general activities to be supported are depending on the phase of the mission Study of Project specific Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Preparation of Functional Requirements for the Project dedicated Flight Control Software Participation in the Analysis and Design of Satellite Operations Preparation of Functional Requirements for the Project dedicated Flight Control Ground Facilities Preparation of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures, flight timelines Mission Management and Mission Planning Support Service OnBoard Software Maintenance Support Service Production of Project specific Software Validation and Satellite Interface Validation Test SVT Procedures, Reports and Participation in SVTs Participation in the System Operations Validation Test SOV, Training and Simulation Programmes Participation in Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP, commissioning and Mission Critical Operations General Flight Control Support Service Spacecraft Performance Analysis Ground tools testing mission control system, mission planning system, simulator Mandatory Skills and Experience Spacecraft system and subsystem knowledge ESOC spacecraft operations experience Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 Coordination with other service providers in operations Some travel and oncall service may be required Desirable Skills and Experience Some experience dealing with external interfaces like ESACPIs Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat Familiarity with deep space or astronomy missions Familiarity with MOIS 7 Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 22 May 2019 Start of Work July 2019 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
