This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. System Engineering Consultancy Support 1413078 Job Description For our customer EUMETSAT, we are looking for a System Engineer to support the Low Earth Orbit Division performing system engineering and design activities. The supporting tasks will be related to Phase BC of a space programme in system design and architecture definition. A summary of the tasks can be found below Requirements engineering, which consists in requirement analysis and validation, requirement allocation, and requirement maintenance Functional analysis and architecture design applying system modelling engineering methods and techniques Subsegment components specification Interface and data structures and flows definition Design, build and configuration which results in a physical architecture, described by its complete functional, physical and software characteristics System analysis, which is performed for the purpose of resolving requirements conflicts, decomposing and allocating requirements, assessing system effectiveness Performance of trade studies for assessing effectiveness, risk, cost and planning. Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile. Extensive System Engineering life cycle experience for the development of remote sensing and Earth observation systems. At least 5 years demonstrated experience in the field of systems engineering and architectural design. ISO, Software development, and Space and Ground System engineering processes and standards. Experience in Model Based System engineering methods, techniques and tools. Experience in the use of modelling and design tools in support of architectural design activities e.g. CORE. High degree of autonomy and good analytical skills. Sound interpersonal skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Fluency in English. Desirable Skills and Experience Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS.
