Summary An exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer to work for Telespazio VEGA onsite at ESTEC. Objective To provide support to the Technology Planning Section within Systems, Technology and Concurrent Engineering domain. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to Providing support to the Technology Harmonisation process and endtoend Technology Management process Supporting coordination with the EU European Commission for technology related matters Maintaining awareness of relevant EU developments, including developments in related nonspace areas Supporting coordination of activities related to Critical Space Technologies for European NonDependence Qualifications Experience A PhD or MSc or equivalent qualification in an engineering or technology related discipline. A background in a wide range of technologies relevant to space and experience in space projects and technology development Experience working with the European Commission andor on EU projects, as there will be a special focus for the post holder on supporting those activities related to the interface with the European Union Ability to work and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary technical environment. Easy contact with personnel and well balanced autonomy in the execution of the requested tasks Rigor, commitment and reliability in the execution of the assigned tasks and capacity to identify priority actions Familiarity with electronics office automation tools e.g. Microsoft Office suite, including Access and techniques, electronic mailing, customised databases Knowledge of web tools and familiarity with ESA corporate tools is an advantage Qualities Be able to function as part of a team A proactive and flexible attitude will be required An ability to work independently and to establish good working relations Further Details All roles within Telespazio VEGA have a defined closing date, however if a successful candidate is found before the advert expires the role will be closed early.
