Telefonica, Red Hat sign global mobile app development deal

2016-05-06 13:43:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Telefonica Business Solutions, the B2B unit of Spanish telecoms operator Telefonica, has announced an agreement with open source software provider Red Hat to establish the Red Hat Mobile Application Platform as the mobile development reference platform for the entire Telefonica Group worldwide. As a result, all Telefonica units will use the platform to help business customers mobilise their business processes on the path to digital transformation. In a statement, Telefonica said a collaborative approach to mobile, enabled by open standards-based technologies such as Red Hat's platform, can help companies develop mobile apps that transform the way they do business. The company has been using Red Hat's platform in some markets since 2012 as part of its Enterprise Managed Mobility offering.
