Telstra turns off hotspot ahead of Wi-Fi relaunch

Telstra has ended its offer of free Wi-Fi from selected phone boxes, temporarily switching off the hotspot network for the sites ahead of the next stage in its wireless strategy. Before Christmas the company promised to turn on nine Wi-Fi hotspots at phone boxes across Canberra and Queanbeyan, providing a 50-metre range for nearby internet users.
