A vacancy for a Thermal MSC Major Space Component Leader mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. The successful applicant will join the Mechanical Systems France department in charge of mechanical, thermal and propulsion for Major Satellite Components MSC on Earth Observation, Navigation and Science ENS satellites in France. In the context of institutional or export programmes and as the Thermal MSC Leader, you will be responsible for the thermal design and verification of the satellite, as well as for the delivery of the thermal hardware, in compliance with the performancequality requirements and schedulecost commitments. In that context, you will drive the satellite analyses and thermal hardware development, working closely with Central Engineering. You will also interface with the customer and launcher authorities, and payloadequipment suppliers as needed. You will be collocated within the project team and will report to both the project System Engineering Manager and the Industrial Manager as well as the thermal MSC Manager. You will be in charge of the following activities Consolidating technical requirements Performing satellite thermal tradeoffs Leading satellite thermal design Performing the thermal hardware procurement followups Supporting satellite integration Performing satellite thermal verification and testing Supporting the launch campaign Supporting the LEOP and inorbit acceptance Performing schedule and cost control. You will also contribute to product policy implementation on projects and to thermal improvement activities and sharing of lessons learnt within the TSPET transnational team. This role will involve some travel for business 1 or 2 days 4 times a year for meetings with customersuppliers, and 2 weeks for launch campaigns and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to an Engineering degree or equivalent, 10 years of experience in the field of satellite or product thermal designtesting, Knowledge of Satellite thermal design, analysis and testing, Team player with good communication skills, Reliability and ability to summarise, Autonomy and ability to anticipate, Negotiation level of French and advanced level of English.
