Environmental Services is replacing or repairing about 17,000 feet of public sewer pipes that are between 60-90 years old and failing due to age. The city installed many of these sewer pipes before 1920. The project also includes constructing about 9,100 feet of 6-inch sewer branch pipes that will connect homes and businesses to the new public sewer pipes.

South Ash Creek sewer repair project - construction update 11/1/13

As you know, the South Ash Creek sewer repair project will repair a segment of sewer pipe near Ash Creek and remove the temporary bypass pipe that has been in place for several years. Construction on this project is ongoing. The new sewer line will reduce the risk of backups or overflows, and will result in the removal of both the above and below ground segments of the bypass pipe. When construction is complete, re-vegetation of the main staging area will be completed.

Environmental Services is replacing or repairing about 17,000 feet of public sewer pipes that are between 60-90 years old and failing due to age. The city installed many of these sewer pipes before 1920. Replacing and repairing these public sewer pipes will help protect the public and the environment by reducing the possibility of costly breaks, leaks, blockages and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.
