Guests can toast the work of the St. Tammany Humane Society at the fifth annual "Fine Wines for Canines" on Jan. 16 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Annadele's Plantation, located at 71518 Chestnut St. in Covington. A cash bar will open at 6 p.m. "With the support from Fine Wines for Canines, the St. Tammany Humane Society is able to provide shelter and medical care for homeless dogs and cats in our area until they find a forever home," said Michele M. Nazar, volunteer and special events coordinator.

Clearly this poor dog has been the recipient of prior abuse. It walked into the elevator and as it had no choice went into a down position doing nothing and still received several kicks and strangulation by being lifted off the ground by it leash.

US - The New York Pork Producers, the National Pork Producers Council and America’s hog farmers on Monday, 23 June, hailed the New York Legislature for not taking up ill-advised legislation banning the use of individual maternity pens for pregnant sows. The pens are approved by the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Swine Veterinarians.
