Twitter Q2 results better than expected, sees growth slowing in H2

(Telecompaper) Twitter reported better-than-expected results for the second quarter, saying its product improvements are paying off. Revenues rose 18 percent to USD 841 million, while operating profit fell slightly to USD 76 million, but was still ahead of the company's guidance. Twitter noted that growth will slow in the second half, due to a tougher comparison with last year and further efforts to phase out old ad formats.

(Telecompaper) MediaTek has previewed its first 5G processor for smartphones at the China Mobile Global Partner Conference in Guangzhou. The Helio M70 is expected to launch in the second half of 2019, supporting 5G New Radio standards on both a standalone and non-standalone basis. The chip works on sub-6GHz frequency bands and is designed to deliver up to 5 Gbps based on the 3GPP Release 15 specifications.
