Creditors of South Korea's Kumho Industrial Co Ltd have agreed to sell their collective majority stake in the firm to the chairman of Kumho's former parent group for 723 billion Korean won , one of the creditor banks said on Friday. Korea Development Bank, in a text message to reporters, said creditors have reached an agreement on the sales price for their collective shares, which amounts to one share more than 50 percent.

The pension benefits earned by Connecticut residents whose employers transfer those liabilities to insurers under corporate pension derisking - programs will be protected from creditors under a new state law. In such programs, employers, who include such well-known organizations as Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., General Motors Co., Kimberly Clark Corp., and Motorola Solutions Inc., have transferred billions of dollars in benefits owed to pension plan participants through the purchase of group annuities from insurers.

The $430-million settlement fund proposal for victims of the Lac-Megantic train disaster is fair and can proceed despite objections by Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd., a Quebec judge ruled Monday. Superior Court Justice Gaetan Dumas rejected two Canadian Pacific motions aimed at stopping the fund, which is earmarked for more than 4,000 victims and creditors in connection with the derailment that killed 47 people in July 2013.
