You will be joining a growing and evolving UK team 68, who are part of a larger transnational team of 50. The UK team is looking forward to moving into their new, purpose built, offices and building. This role will best suit someone with indepth Electronics experience from industries such as rail, oil gas, aerospace, engineering, components, RF Radio frequency, automotive, nuclear, medical and other similar electronics industries. As a RAMS Engineer you will be reviewing the equipment thats going up into space, reviewing external equipment, ensuring quality standards are met and ensuring reliability of equipment. This role comes with occasional travel, UK European, dependent on projects and departmental needs. Tasks accountabilities RAMS ensures proper support to concept solutions during development and inservice phases. The objective of RAMS is to support the design definition and assess that the products delivered by Airbus Defence and Space are dependable and safe as required by the legal and regulatory requirements, customers specifications and inhouse policies. The primary objective of your goal is to analyse candidate designs of all space products developed in Stevenage such as major ESA andor NASA science spacecraft launched to explore mars or analyse the earth surface or its atmosphere. You will also be involved in a wide range of product development such as propulsion subsystems, navigation, digital processors etc. Main key responsibilities of the role Assessingunderstandings of customer requirements. Performing all required Project RAM analyses e.g. FMEA Failure modes and effacts analysis Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis FMECA, Statistical ReliabilityAvailability Analysis etc. Performing all required Project Safety activities such as safety analysis, production of safety submission documents Performing tradeoffs and redundancy optimization studies. Working in close collaboration with design engineers e.g. HW, SW and Operations, technical architects, external customers and suppliers to achieve mission objectives. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Required skills Indepth Statistics and Reliability Mathematics experience and background RAMS engineering processes methods and tools FMEA, Fault tree, reliability analysis System and equipment engineering related technical disciplines Electronics, Electrical, Thermal, Mechanical, Operations and Software, with a specific focus on electronics and system engineering. It is capable of providing a highly accurate, guaranteed global positioning service under civilian control. The system is still under development and has recently entered the Exploitation Phase. You will play a key role in developing a missioncritical systems for one of the most prestigious space programmes. Your future role and responsibilities The RAMS engineer is responsible for undertaking the various analysis required to understand the safety and reliability issues of various Galileo ground infrastructure and system designs. You have affinity with complex systems and can determine the reliability of these systems by means of Failure Tree analysis, Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis. The RAMS engineer is also responsible for the Dependability of the system by means of the maintainability analysis. Your responsibilities will include Undertake the analysis to maintain the Reliability of the system. By means of a Failure Tree analysis. By means of a FMECA. Maintain and determine the maintainability of the system. Determine the availability of the system. Work with the design teams to ensure a reliable system. Identify and report risks and critical items by entering them into the Risk and Critical Items Databases. Tracking and processing of all hazards and risks. Review and support subcontract RAMS analysis. Review and maintain and control the safety aspects and analysis of the designs. Prepare and maintain the RAMS analysis report. Required qualifications to be successful in this role Essential qualifications Knowledge of the Galileo Software Standard. Can setup and maintain a Failure Tree analysis. At least two years of experience as a RAMS Engineer. Desired qualifications Experience with space projects. Professional attributes You have demonstrated good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills while working in a team. Eligibility for an EU Personal Security Clearance at the level of CONFIDENTIAL and above is part of the selection procedure.
