The Lake Oswego, Oregon-based company posted quarterly net income of $42.8 million, or $1.33 per share, compared to $33.6 million, or $1.03 per share, in the year-ago period.

Furniture manufacturer and retailer La-Z-Boy Inc. said Tuesday that profit rose in its fiscal fourth quarter thanks to improved margins, but revenue fell short of estimates. The Michigan-based company last year stopped its domestic production of wood furniture, exited the hospitality business and started importing wood furniture.
