Deutsche Telekom launches Firefox OS smartphone in Poland

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom is starting sales of the new mobile Firefox OS with the launch of the Alcatel One Touch Fire in Europe. T-Mobile Poland will offer the Firefox OS-powered smartphone via its online sales channels already from 12 July and nationwide in 850 shops from 15 July. The smartphone will be offered starting from PLN 1 for mix subscribers when topping up by at least PLN 25, as well as with postpaid plans from PLN 39.90 per month. Market launches in further European countries will follow in autumn. In Germany, the phone will be marketed through Telekom's discount brand Congstar. The company's subsidiaries in Hungary (Magyar Telekom) and Greece (Cosmote) will also begin sales in the autumn. In Poland, the Alcatel One Touch Fire will be available from PLZ 1 (EUR 0.23) in combination with a special tariff.

Chevron wants more dialogue on Poland shale gas rules

Energy major Chevron said on Tuesday it was committed to shale gas exploration in Poland though it wanted more consultation with the government on draft amendments to rules before they are adopted.
