Low-Noise Inductive Chokes target MRI scanners.

2013-01-22 14:30:53| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today

Available in 36–300 mm diameters, SMP Inductive Chokes support frequencies up to 200 kHz and currents up to 1,000 A. Units use magnetostriction-free materials that are designed for use in medical equipment. For MRI scanners, chokes are installed in gradient amplifiers, which supply output voltages and currents and control gradient coils that encode resonance signals for subsequent image reconstruction. Filter and mains chokes ensure clean sinusoidal waveform and low-loss feedback of unused energy. This story is related to the following:Inductor Chokes | Filter Chokes

A Four-Element 'Clover' Transceiver Array For 3 Tesla Cardiac MRI

2013-01-14 10:31:23| rfglobalnet Home Page

The design of radio frequency (RF) coils is of paramount importance to the quality and safety of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Being the signal generator and detector of MRI, RF coils are required to generate a uniform excitation in the target during transmission and high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) during reception. In the meantime, RF coils must not cause subject overheating in in-vivo human studies. This requires that RF energy deposited inside the human body and coupled to receivers should be minimized.
