Department of Justice no longer investigating SandRidge Energy

The U.S. Department of Justice is no longer investigating SandRidge Energy for antitrust violations, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing . "On April 14, 2016, the U.S. Department of Justice notified the Company that it is no longer a subject or target of the previously reported grand jury investigation of possible violations of antitrust laws in the purchase or lease of land, oil, or natural gas rights from 2012 and previous years," the filing, which was released Friday, read.

SandRidge Energy agrees to settlement in overtime lawsuit

SandRidge Energy Corp. has agreed to pay up to $4.95 million to settle a lawsuit filed by employees in 2013 claiming the company underpaid them for overtime and other work. "Although defendants believed their payroll practices complied with the law, defendants have revised certain work and compensation policies or practices in an effort to better prevent such claims in the future and to benefit employees," the settlement stated.

Sandridge agrees to convert wells from disposal to research

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission says it's reached an agreement with Sandridge Energy over its disposal wells in hopes of reducing earthquakes. The plan announced Wednesday calls for Sandridge to reduce the volume of wastewater injected into certain areas and convert some wells from disposal to research operations.

SandRidge Energy lays off 226 of 260 Lariat employees

Oklahoma City-based SandRidge Energy Inc. has announced the layoffs of 226 people at its Lariat Services Group subsidiary in northwestern Oklahoma. SandRidge spokesman David Kimmel said the layoffs are "difficult, but necessary" because of "the unprecedented environment currently facing our entire industry."
