China's barriers to imports of some U.S. genetically modified crops are disrupting seed companies' plans for new product launches and keeping at least one variety out of the U.S. market altogether. Two of the world's biggest seed makers, Syngenta AG and Dow AgroSciences, are responding with tightly controlled U.S. launches of new GMO seeds, telling farmers where they can plant new corn and soybean varieties and how can the use them.

The Oliver Law Group P.C. announced that it has launched a Syngenta lawsuit for GMO Corn Seed web page to provide the public with information about the litigation surrounding Agrisure Viptera, a variety of genetically modified corn seed which has not been approved for sale in China. According to a recent report from The Wall Street Journal, China has rejected numerous shipments of U.S. corn that contain the Agrisure Viptera variety, which resulted in an 85% reduction of such shipments in the first seven months of 2014.
